Teamwork Matters
Teamwork matters. Thank you for being part of the Rescued Rollers team. Your support is making a difference for the dogs and their families who need it the most. We currently have 14 dogs on our waiting list for wheelchairs, but that’s about to change. Thanks to your help, almost all of these dogs will get the gift of mobility before the end of the month, and this article explains why so many people deserve the credit for the work we do.
Rescued Rollers may be the name on the wheelchair boxes we ship out, but we couldn’t send a single wheelchair out without the assistance of so many people. Donations of funds, wheelchairs, and purchasing our fundraising items are what keep us operating. Sharing our posts, events, or our page on social media raises awareness, and that gets help to more dogs who need it.
Here are some examples of how teamwork, partnerships, and your support is making the world a better place for so many dogs and their families. We’re going to mention partner companies and organizations by name, but we’re keeping individuals anonymous for their privacy. Those who are mentioned will know who they are.
Here are a few of the most important ways that individuals have made the Rescued Rollers team so much better:
- Many people have shared our social media pages, posts, and events. For people who are searching for pet wheelchairs and don’t know about us, one share can make the difference between a dog dragging itself around (or worse) and that same dog rocking and rolling with his own wheels.
- Several people have donated their birthdays to Rescued Rollers, or started fundraisers in our name. We work on a very small annual budget, and these donations are critical to keep us operating. They allow us to buy parts, shipping supplies, etc.
- Rescued Rollers has a small core-group of private donors that really go above and beyond what we ask of them. They support us in everything we do, and they often make very substantial donations so that we can expand our educational programs, stock up on spare parts, replace faulty tools or equipment, etc.
- We’ve had many people donate wheelchairs to us! This is critical. Without chairs, we couldn’t help a single dog.
- The support that you’ve shown for our fundraising store has been phenomenal. The purchases and donations from this store will help to level out the months when we have high or low donations. This is critical to keeping our operation flowing smoothly. Several individuals have donated large amounts of their time and materials to make the products we offer there. The store would probably not exist without their inspiration and their kindness.
We’ve developed close partnerships with wheelchair manufacturers, other nonprofits, rescues, and many local businesses that help us to operate efficiently:
- Gunnar’s Wheels – We’ve been partnering with Gunnar’s Wheels Foundation since very early in both of our organizations’ histories. Jason and his team have been incredible partners, and even better friends. When we need parts or wheelchairs, Jason has never failed to come through for us, and we try to do the same for him. Later this week he’s going to be shipping us a number of wheelchairs, spare parts, and accessories to help us empty our waiting list!
- com – We love working with a company that always does things right. They are very civic minded, and help wherever they can. They have graciously given Rescued Rollers a very generous discount on parts so that our small budget can help so many more dogs. They absolutely rock. We just placed a fairly large parts order, and along with the assistance from Gunnar’s Wheels, that is going to help us empty our waiting list
- Wheeling Superheroes, our newest team member, is a nonprofit organization getting pets into wheelchairs. We’re excited to partner with them, and we look forward to giving even more special dogs the gift of mobility in cooperation with their work.
- Impression Press – Our local print shop and Fedex drop-off. They’ve always done a wonderful job shipping our wheelchairs for us and taking care of our print needs. Recently they stepped up to allow us to offer our logo T-Shirts for sale, in a way that doesn’t impact our budget. They also helped us out with some graphics work for our logo and our fundraising store. Impression Press really makes the logistics of my job so much easier.
There are many other people and businesses that have supported us and share the credit for our success in getting dogs mobile again. When we all work together as a team, everybody wins.
We sincerely thank you for being a part of our team. If we could put all of your names on the boxes we ship, we would, because you deserve that. It isn’t just Rescued Rollers that is getting these dogs moving again, it is each and every one of you.
