UPDATE: 03/13/2024 ADOPTED!
March 1, 2024
Galion, Ohio 44833
Hank is a healthy 6 month old German Shepherd Dog (GSD) and he is ready to find his forever family. He has no special needs. Hank is going to be a big boy. He currently weighs 55 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped and current on all preventatives. He does very well with the other dogs that he lives with. He is mildly interested in cats, so he should be fine in a house with dog-savvy cats. He’s done well with the children over 5 years old that he’s met.
Hank is a typical GSD puppy. He’s smart, loving, playful, energetic and can be strong-willed. He will need a family that has experience with the breed traits of GSD’s.
Considering that he is still a young puppy, Hank does very well with basic commands and leash walking, although his new family will need to commit to continue working on training, socialization and leash walking. Hank is crate trained. Although he has the run of the house when people are home, he eats and sleeps in his crate. He’s prone to counter-surfing or table-surfing if left unsupervised, so puppy-proofing your home is a must. Hank is housebroken, although he still has occasional accidents when he gets excited.
Hank is an inside dog and will not be adopted as an outside pet. He has a very loud voice and he is not afraid to use it, so he may not be a good fit for you if your neighbors don’t want to hear a dog barking.
We are requiring Hank’s potential adopters to have GSD breed experience and a physically fenced yard or area for him. Hank is currently located in Galion, Ohio 44833. A meet & greet at his foster home will be required.
There is a $225 adoption fee, and a legally binding adoption contract must be signed before Hank can go home with you.
If you are interested in adopting Hank please fill out our adoption application here: Adoption Application. We will conduct phone interviews with the most qualified applicants and schedule a meet & greet at that time,
